Actress Shailene Woodley was arrested on Monday while peacefully protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline.
The star, who posted the whole arrest video on Facebook Live, was told she was being arrested because she was “identified.”
Seems like the police wanted to silence her by arresting her but in turn, made everyone more aware of what is happening.
She’s now publicly spoke out about the arrest and shared a message of solidarity with other protestors.
“One day, baby, we’ll sing our poetry. The words dripping from our tongues wet with ripened patience. And the lyrics, the sweet fruits born from the seeds our aging hands are now sowing. #AlwaysInAllWays #HeartForward #UpToUs #NoDAPL #ProtectCleanWater #IAmOnYourSide,” she wrote.
Shailene and others are protesting the controversial oil pipeline construction that is said to threaten the main water source of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s reservation.
