YOLO, Merica, Biatch & More Added to The Oxford English Dictionary

The dictionary is going to the millennials.

The Oxford English Dictionary added more than 500 new words today.

Most of the additions are something you’d read in a teenagers texts.

Words added include: moobs, biatch, yogalates, resting b*tch face, YOLO, Merica, and vom.

Katherine Martin, the head of U.S. Dictionaries for Oxford University Press, explained that all the additions are basically to record history.

“We’re sort of taking the long view,” Martin told The Washington Post. “The slang words of today, if they rise to a level of being something you can imagine that, in 50 years, someone might encounter and wonder, ‘What is that?’ — we want there to be a record of it.”

Also added to the dictionary are words created by the late author Roald Dahl in his books Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG.

“Dahlesque,” “golden ticket,” “human bean,” “scrumdiddlyumptious,” “Oompa Loompa” and “witching hour” are all recognized as dictionary words now.
