“I didn’t sign up for a TV show.”
That was Shailene Woodley’s response when asked if she would be on board with a Divergent TV movie.
Shailene played Tris in the dystopian franchise.
The first two movies did really well in the box office, but the third film was a flop.
In order to avoid that for the fourth and final film, Ascendant, directors announced they were looking to make it into a TV movie with the possibility of a TV series spinoff.
However the actors from the franchise don’t seem to be on board.
“Out of respect to the studio and everyone in involved, they may have changed their mind and may be doing something different, but I’m not necessarily interested in doing a television show,” she said.
Co-star Miles Teller also echoed those same thoughts telling The Hollywood Reporter,
“We all signed on for [Ascendant] in hopes that it’d be released in theaters,’ whereas reconfiguring it as a lower-budgeted TV project presents “a different set of circumstances.”
