Calvin Harris seriously has perfect timing.
On the heels of Taylor Swift’s breakup with Tom Hiddleston, Calvin is opening up about his breakup with the famous singer.
Calvin, who was named Solo Artist of the Year on the GQ Men of the Year issue, talks about how uncomfortable he was with all the publicity.
It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly. The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized in the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense. I’m not good at being a celebrity.
He says the minute they broke up “all hell broke loose” and as a result, he said some things on Twitter. The messages have since been deleted and he explained, “none of that matters. I’m a positive guy.”
The positive guy also said some positive things about his ex: “When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus,” he said. “She respected my feelings in that sense.”
Aside from his dating life, Harris recently celebrated his professional success at the GQ event in London.
“I feel at 32 I’m nearing the end. Just kidding,” he said before continuing.
“This week ten years ago was when I left Marks and Spencer Simply food in Clapham South where I carried out such tasks as date-rotating sandwiches and telling old ladies where we moved the salmon.”
How inspirational is that?
He also thanked his manager Mark Gillespie who helped him navigate all the tabloid drama.
“We started out at the same time. We discovered a lot of new exciting experiences together, whether it be touring together or dealing with endless amount of bulls–t that’s written about people in 2016. So thank you.”
Meanwhile, ex Taylor is dealing with yet another highly publicized breakup – her love with Hiddleston ended after 3 months, just as quickly as it began when she rebounded from Harris a few weeks later.
