Come with me and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination.
Coldplay honored actor Gene Wilder during their show in Denver last night.
The group covered “Pure Imagination,” a song that Wilder sang when he played Willy Wonka in the 70s film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
In the clip posted to the groups Twitter, you can see neon confetti falling on the crowd as the group finishes one of their originals and transitions to the whimsical tune, that really fits their aesthetic.
We definitely had a twinkle in our eyes watching that tribute and we’re sure Gene is smiling somewhere also.
Wilder passed away at the age of 83 on Sunday.
