The swimmer was charged by Rio de Janeiro police for filing a false robbery claim while in country for the Summer Olympics.
Lochte has since apologized for fabricating the story claiming he “over exaggerated” what happened.

The AP reports that Lochte can decide whether or not to have a defense in Brazil. The indictment will also be sent to the International Olympic Committee’s ethics commission.
Since the “robbery” story, Lochte has lost all of his endorsements but surprisingly gained a new one with Pine Bors. throat lozenges.
“We all make mistakes, but they’re rarely given front-page scrutiny,” Pine Bros. CEO Rider McDowell said in a press release announcing the deal. “He’s a great guy who has done incredible work with charities. I’m confident that Pine Bros. fans will support our decision to give Ryan a second chance.”
Lochte will also appear in the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars!
