PAWS Chicago is going to help animal suffering from the traumatic floods in Louisiana.
While there is no toll on how many animals have been stranded and injured during the flood, Chicago’s PAWS reps and volunteers are headed down to rescue affected pets.
They’ll be focusing on the pets in the overcrowded shelters and the ones given up by owners.
All pets will be brought back to Chicago on Thursday night.
They will be transported to Paws Chicago Medical Center for microchipping, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries and other medical attention, the press release reads.
After that, they will be available for adoption.
The shelter is asking for additional supplies and foster system volunteers who are ready to deal with the difficult situations the animals are struggling with.
