Another #SummerBash is in the books!
When we say this is the hottest concert of the summer, we are NOT kidding.
The B96 Pepsi Summer Bash took place at the Allstate Arena last night and it was FIRE, not because of the weather but because the performances were just THAT good. Also, good thing we weren’t outside because we would have MELTED.
And actually, some of us did during Pre-Bash, which took place outside of the Allstate Arena from 2-5pm!
There were ton of sponsor activities – fans could stay cool with Dunkin Donuts coffee, go easy bungee jumping and even sign a birthday card for Ariana Grande.
There was also a performance from Frankie and a dance-off courtesy of Six Flags!
At 5:30PM doors, opened and excitement filled the arena on a Sunday night.
Days opened up the show with her hit “Sit Still Look Pretty” and really gave us that Chicago feel with her customized Cubs jersey! #ChicagoSportsRepresent!
BeBe Rexha filled in for Iggy Azalea, who was out of the country, and put on a fantastic show filled with twerking. (Twerk, twerk, twerk).
She also performed song she’s written for other artists like Rihanna and Eminem’s “Monster” before throwing down her own hits including “Me Myself and I,” ft. G-Eazy.
Mike Posner slowed things down a bit spitting some slam poetry and taking us on a journey to Ibiza.
When Charlie Puth took the stage though, it was time to get emotional – especially when the whole stadium lit up in phone glares as they sang along to “See You Again.” #CantEvenHandleIt
His vocals were also on point, even though he admitted in the backstage interview that his throat was feeling a bit sore.
As soon as Calvin Harris came out everyone knew it was about to be LIT! The EDM producer brought laser lights and fire to the arena so it felt like a full on dance music festival. And there was no shortage of hits including his new one with Rihanna “This Is What You Came For.” No lie, this was what we came for. Not a soul inside Allstate could sit through his performance.
Meghan Trainor kept up the energy opening with her smash single “Me Too” (lots of dancing, thankfully no falling) and then took us on the M-Train with hit after hit including a tribute to the Orlando shooting victims. She finished off her set with “All About That Bass” and “NO!”
And then…. it was time. Bow ties lit up the stadium with anticipation for THE QUEEN and birthday girl herself, Ms. Ariana Grande.
Before she took the stage, The J Show and Stylz and Roman jumped on stage to sing “Happy Birthday” to her with the whole crowd. It was magical.
Ariana closed out and epic #SummerBash, performing hits from her new album “Dangerous Woman” and some oldies too. The best part? Meghan Trainor stayed for Ari’s set and watched the whole thing from the side of the stage while Ari’s mom and grandmother were in the front row singing along!
See you next year everyone – and don’t forget, we also have JINGLEBASH coming up in December 10, 2016!
