Since Nicki Minaj was caught on tape blasting Mariah Carey the American Idol showdown has only gotten more intense. While Mariah spoke to Barbra Walters about a threatening accusation, Minaj continued her tirade on Twitter. 

The video that hit the net confirmed early reports that there was a beef brewing between the Idol judges. On the clip, Minaj can be seen and heard screaming at Carey.  

“I told them (producers), I’m not f***in’ putting up with her f***in’ highness over there,” Minaj said. 

On the View today (October 4) Barbra Walters reported that Mariah told her that she had bigger concerns than the argument that took place on the set.  

“Mariah and Multiple people heard Nicki say if ‘I had a gun I would shoot that b****,’” Walters said. “She said there were staff members who heard it.”

Walters went on to explain how unsafe Mariah feels as a result of the alleged gun threat.  

“Nicki is unpredictable and Mariah says she can’t take a chance and hired extra security,” Walters said. “She said she doesn’t feel comfortably emotionally.”

Nicki wasted no time offering her side to her Barbz. 

Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz. 😜

She went after Barbra Walters as well, tweeting that Walters never reached out to get her side. But she reserved her harshest remarks for Carey.

In some of her tweets Minaj accused Carey of trying to have her removed from the show.

While Minaj has been setting Twitter ablaze with her remarks, Nick Cannon, Mariah’s hubby, blamed AI producers for the footage that leaked of the blowout between Carey and Minaj. The America’s Got Talent host believes that the long-running FOX singing competition is using the much talked about spat to boost up ratings at the expense of the up-and-coming talent on the show. 

“I feel like it’s taking away from the quality of what Idol is all about; this is about people accomplishing their dreams and experts guiding these young people to do what they’ve done,” he told Access Hollywood Live. “[Mariah] is the strongest and the classiest woman that I’ve ever met,”Cannon said. “If you watch the video she just maintains her composure… She signed up to do a job to help young people accomplish their dreams and this is like a sidebar.
