When Perez Hilton spoke with B96 Mornings earlier today, he gave a play by play recap of what really went down between him and One Direction, and his personal updates on the celebrity world’s reaction.

It all began with a goodbye tweet from One Direction’s Zayn Malik:

Perez Hilton saw the tweet, and reacted. “What happened was that I just reported the facts in the way I’ve been doing things recently; fun, sassy, opinionated, but not nasty or mean,” Perez said.

“They (One Direction) just didn’t like what I had to say. I reported first that he (Zayn Malik) deleted his Twitter account. Just after doing that report, I was a trending topic (worldwide on Twitter), which is awesome, loved it,” Perez shared.

“Then I also reported that Zayn was caught in an alleged cheating scandal with this video that I posted which showed him hitting on a girl that’s not his girlfriend. And you think that the thought of him being single would be a nice thing for all these girls, but apparently not.”

Perez added, “A lot of these fans were sending me death threats. I literally retweeted seven in a row.” Then he thanked them for the hilarity of this major worldwide catastrophe.

If Perez didn’t put this news out there, someone else would. It’s not like he’s the only person in the world that reports on celebrity gossip. However, the “Directioners” decided to lash out on him. It happens. At least he can say he beat everyone else to the punch. It is his job, right?

Perez shed some light on some things he said in the past. “I did forget one piece of information. I think what really upset them, was a while ago, I was in London in July, and I was doing interviews. I was asked about One Direction, and I said I thought that in the next year, or year-and-a-half, they’d break up. I said I thought Zayn would be the first one to leave the group for a variety of reasons. He was photographed in Miami wearing a t-shirt that said ‘F U.’ He was photographed even more recently in London flipping the bird, and all of these things of him acting out, and this is the latest. Then I said ‘I called it.’ I always said that he’d be the first to leave the group, and this (leaving Twitter) is just another indication that I am right.”

Is it true that Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, have unfollowed @PerezHilton on Twitter because of all this?

“No, in fact Miley tweeted yesterday that she never even followed me, so she’s not sure why people were saying she unfollowed me, and that’s the truth.”

How can Perez rectify the situation? Well, his solution is to get the fans even more upset. “Yesterday I tweeted, ‘Did you hear that? Zayn Malik farted.’
