This story just gets more tragic!

We all were shocked at the untimely passing of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Whitney Houston[/lastfm] – but did she die by drowning?

While the only thing that has been confirmed by Whitney’s reps are that she passed away yesterday afternoon at the Beverly Hilton, TMZ has new details.

They are reporting that no illegal drugs or alcohol were found in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton (where she was staying and was getting ready for Clive Davis’ Grammy Party which was at the hotel)

Their source does report that several prescription drug bottles were present and also that she possibly drown in the bathtub (still believed to be found by[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Ray J[/lastfm])

Whitney has had a long public battle with drugs and alcohol.  Hotel employees report that she was seen the night before partying heavily at the hotel bar with a group of friends.

Her aunt [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dionne Warwick[/lastfm] claims to have spoken to her earlier that day. It’s also rumored that she spoke to her mother [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cissy Houston[/lastfm] just 20 minutes before she was pronounced dead.

Her body was removed from the hotel and is currently awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

It’s also being reported that Whitney’s only child, 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown (with ex-husband [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bobby Brown[/lastfm]) was not allowed to see her mother after she was found.

She and Whitney were said to be very close, and were excited to celebrate the Grammys together.
