American Idol Season 9 winner [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lee DeWyze[/lastfm] headlines at the first anniversary celebration of Viper Alley, Lincolnshire on Saturday, Mar. 10 at 7 pm. Doors open at 5 pm.

Tickets, starting at $20, go on sale Friday, Jan. 13 at noon and are available at viper-alley.com. The show is open to all ages.

DeWyze first played Viper Alley at the boutique concert venue’s launch last March. “We’re delighted that Lee could join us again as we celebrate our first anniversary,” says Scott Greenberg, Viper Alley founder and also creator of theWit in Chicago. “We know his many Chicago area fans will want to welcome him home again.”

The Mount Prospect native auditioned in 2009 for American Idol’s ninth season in Chicago with a rendition of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.” The only contestant that season to never land in the bottom three, DeWyze emerged as the American Idol fan favorite with covers of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and U2′s “Beautiful Day.” In the final episode, he beat out the second place finalist, Crystal Bowersox, to win the title.

His latest album, “Live It Up,” on the 19 Recordings/RCA label was released in November 2010. He had previously released two albums on an indie label in Chicago: “”So I’m Told,” in 2007 and “Slumberland,” in 2010. DeWyze is currently working on a new album, which is expected to be out this spring.
