Cannon’s Countdown: 5 Black Girls That Rock!

Every day our man Nick Cannon covers off on the hottest music, movies and stars of pop culture. Come back each day for a list from Nick as part of Cannon’s Countdown.

Started by DJ Beverly Bond, The Black Girls Rock! program is an organization to help mentor and guide young girls.  Now in its second year as a televised show on BET hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, last night’s show featured several cool female performers including Mary J. Blige.

Find out what other black girls were rocking out on stage as well as my involvement with the show!

3) Erykah Badu rocked the crowd mixing the hip-hop classic “Planet Rock” with the song “Appletree” from her 1997 debut album “Baduizm.” Pretty fresh, Low Down Loretta Brown …(she has more aliases than rappers)!
